Plum Island Cookie Company began in 2007 as a small cottage bakery nestled in the dunes of Plum Island, Massachusetts. Living on the Island provided the inspiration for the unique Sand Dollar Cookie design that helped this little bakery go from a dream and a prayer to a successful small business.
In the summer of 2015 it settled in to a new location at the top of a beautiful hillside looking out among the clouds and treetops in the nearby town of Rowley.
Plum Island Cookie Company is a true small batch bakery using organic and natural, simple ingredients without preservatives. The recipe was adapted from a very old French Sable recipe and is baked to perfection, one tray at a time to ensure each cookie has slightly crisp edge and a delicate center with a hint of the crushed vanilla bean that swirl through your senses as you open the package.
These beautiful hand-designed French Butter Cookies are perfect for every holiday and celebration or gift giving occasion. Choose our signature Sand Dollar Cookie or many other sweet designs. They are tastefully packaged in crystal clear cellophane bags and can be personalized as favors with printed hangtags and natural raffia or satin ribbons for Weddings, Bridal and Baby Showers, Corporate Events and Gifts.

Plum Island Cookie Company is truly a small batch bakery and is owned and operated by Dawn Marie Shay. She attended Boston University's Certificate Program in the Culinary Arts and had the privilege of training with an array of accomplished chefs including Jacqueline Cattani, Jacques Pépin and amazingly enough Julia Child.
