Plum island cookie company is a quaint cottage bakery nestled in the dunes of Plum Island Massachusetts.
The bakery specializes in delicious hand-designed gourmet French butter cookies. Customers can choose from our unique Sand Dollar Cookie or many other buttery sweets that are perfect for every occasion.
All of our cookies are baked to order in small batches, using fresh natural ingredients without preservatives. The recipe was adapted from a very old French butter cookie recipe. Each cookie is baked to perfection with crisp edges and a delicate center with a hint of vanilla bean that swirls through your senses as you open the package.
The bakery is owned and operated by Dawn Marie Shay who attended Boston University's Certificate Program in the Culinary Arts and had the privilege of training with an array of accomplished chefs including Jacqueline Cattani, Jacques Pépin and amazingly enough Julia Child.
Living on Plum Island for the past 17 years provided the inspiration for the unique Sand Dollar Cookie design that helped this little bakery go from a dream and a prayer to a successful small business.
